Wardenclyffe Tower is the seventh studio album by guitarist Allan Holdsworth, released in 1992 through Restless Records (United States) and JMS–Cream Records (Europe), and in 1993 through Polydor Records (Japan); a remastered edition was reissued in 2007 through Eidolon Efformation, containing three bonus tracks (alternative versions of "Tokyo Dream" from 1983's Road Games and "The-Unmerry "Wardenclyffe is a top band waiting to blossom within the doom genre." The songs on this demo combine sounds of doom and death from the early nineties with a curiosity for the music of tomorrow. Inspired by Nikola Tesla's Wardenclyffe Tower, the pedal attempts to capture the essence of one of the most mysterious and odd scientists of the century. The Wardenclyffe wears many hats: it is a pitch modulator, vintage low pass, high Wardenclyffe’s Welcome Center would have branches out to the Transmitting Tower, a state of the art manufacturing center, area for communication broadcasts (telegraph, telephone, world time, etc.), a global positioning building, an electro-medical research building, a business/financial section, an area for performing artists, and a restricted government area. The great Wardenclyffe tower rose majestically above the Earth, its signature dome pointing to the heavens. An expansive laboratory complex stood ready to be filled with generators and equipment. Below Wardenclyffe, a series of carefully constructed tunnels filled with metal pipes would “grip the Earth” and shake it, sending current waves traveling across the planet. Had Wardenclyffe been completed without interruption, Tesla may have once again managed to alter the course of history.
